Harsh chemicals can be used to effectively strip the sensor of contaminants without damaging it. If you are looking for a cheaper sensor, then we recommend you seek out the mainstream brands. People usually come to us when they are having a particular challenge using mass produced commercial sensors. Our sensors are individually hand-made and are quite a bit more expensive than your average sensor, however they are able to overcome a specific challenge or deficiency in the existing measurement scenario, and therefore the cost typically justifies the benefit. For difficult applications, the long term cost of ownership is less when using a Turtle Tough Sensor, as the serviceability will prove more economical than low cost sensors. If your application does not present any major challenges and your existing sensor is lasting more than 12 months, then we recommend you stay with your existing product.
